In love, they say, there's no fear
Mine terrifies me
and puzzles the rest I foolishly intend
To make my love more legitimate
By hiding it away
Sparing you
yet another unsolicited adorer In love, they say, all is fair
How dare someone reduce
love to fear?
Not wanting to hurt you
Is that I may have hurt you more
and hurting you I despair
I pride in my sensible judgement
But all you see
Is a coward with noble intentions
I have been on this road
I have felt my pride
Wearing my heart out.

'It is a time when one's spirit is subdued and sad, one knows not why; when the past seems a storm-swept desolation, life a vanity and a burden, and the future but a way to death.'
